Our Front Porch

I know it has been a while since my last post and I am so sorry for that! These past few months have been so packed full. Our minds have been in a whirlwind between Nate having multiple Fire Fighter classes, the flu, working on the house, every day work, and some things I can’t yet disclose. So, here is a mini update on the house.

We got the wiring done, floors prepped and ready for flooring, the massive Jacuzzi tub put into place, plumbing done, and some other things accomplished. But, in this post, I want to focus on our amazing front porch which Nate finished and revealed to me on Christmas day. I am obsessed!!! We go this amazing stone that would have cost us $4,000 for just $100. Yes, you read that right!

Let me tell you just how amazing Yahweh is. He gave us a house when we needed it; so, why would he then not give us what we need to fix it up.

This stone was the only kind available for that AMAZING deal and it is perfectly beautiful on the porch of our house. Not to mention how wonderfully it goes with the handmade cedar railings, posts, and door Nate made. I just can’t wait to see the shutters when he gets them made and hung to finish out the look!

Our back porch will be the same we just need to purchase the cement board and grout. While the stone for the front and back porch did only cost us $100. The rest of the materials added up to about $300 per porch. $400 a porch is not bad at all; but, when you are doing all of this debt-free, you have to pace yourself. And it is so worth it in the long haul!

  1. So excited for this picture of progress. I love the front porch and I know the back will be great! You and Nate are blessed to be working together on this dream! With each step you take and each part that is completed, the excitement grows. May God continue to bless you both and your efforts to complete your home!
