Breaking Ground!

Now that we have the house ready to move we need a place to put it. These photos are of us getting the ground ready to pour the concrete foundation. This took a lot of measuring, surveying, digging and rebar.

I was only 13 years old when I first learned how to do a land survey, that was back when we were remodeling my family’s Hammermill Barn into my parents’ house. I learned a lot on that project and now can put those skills to use relocating and remodeling my own home.

The final photo in this post is a really neat one; because, you can see our house on the hill in the background still sitting in its original location while in the foreground seeing the spot where it will live out the rest of its days! Thankfully we don’t have to move it too far!
