Breakfast Nook Windows

It has been a crazy, packed full, past few weeks. I think that always happens in the height of summer. The heat rises as does the to-do list.  With the weather being so HOT it makes everything go slower. Especially when working on the outside of the house; but, still we have been accomplishing a lot.

In this post I am showing you the work we did on our windows for the breakfast nook in the kitchen.  We removed, restructured, and reinstalled the windows. Since there was no weatherproofing, there was some damage we had to fix. This bay window is one of my favorite spots in the house already—this and my dressing nook in our bedroom. If you need me I will be in one of these spots drinking coffee.

In the video below you will not only see work on the breakfast nook but also some little clips of me working with my dad on some of the wiring.  This is the first time we’ve gotten the power hooked back up to the house since we MOVED it. From a really young age Daddy has had me helping him pull wires and teaching me all about electrical work. It may be a dirty job, crawling around under the house and in all the insulation, but it is sure worth doing to have some functioning lights and outlets. During the time the video and photos were taken we only got a portion of the “already in place” lights and outlets working. We will soon be pulling more wires and installing all of the new spots.

I have people ask me all the time if my posts are up to-date, they are not. We are a little further along with the house than the posts. This is really helpful in allowing me to have material to post during those weeks when we have to slow down in order to let our money build back up. Nevertheless, I know I have been really bad about getting a post out the past few months. I need your help to motivate me in this area! Share your favorite post to date on your social media (don’t forget to tag us @quartzcottage so we can see it) and give us some good motivation, tell us your favorite things about it and even some tips you might have, we love learning!
